Three cases of robbery

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 28.
Six persons involved in three cases of robbery have been arrested
from different parts of the Capital during the past 24 hours.
A resident of Ghaziabad, Deedar Singh (35), was caught by some
members of the public and the police soon after he had along with
three of his associates committed a robbery at a house in Karol
Bagh.
The police said the four culprits had gone on two scooters to the
12/13 Gali Naiwalan, Karol Bagh house of Rajbeer Singh (50)
yesterday afternoon. Armed with a knife and countrymade pistol,
they had entered the house and threatened Rajbeer's mother,
Satvant Kaur (70), wife, Ravinder Kaur (45), daughter, Sukhbeer
Kaur (18), son, Saheb Singh (10) and servant, Jassa Ram.
Then they had taken away two gold bracelets from Satvant Kaur and
two gold rings and artificial jewellery from Sukhbeer Kaur.
However, as Jassa Ram raised an alarm, the culprits were forced
to flee. While three of them managed to get away, Deedar Singh
was caught. The police were now trying to nab the other accused
and effect the recovery of the robbed property.
In another case, the Nabi Karim police arrested three persons who
had along with an associates robbed a man of Rs 2,000 at
Paharganj bridge in Central Delhi.
The police said the accused -- Satya Prakash, Rohit and Satpal --
were all in their early 20s and residents of Paharganj. On the
September 24 night, they had robbed Sirajuddin, a resident of
Farash Khana, G.B. Road, of Rs 2,000. Having recovered Rs 200
from the arrested persons, the police are now searching for their
associate, who is absconding.
Two other persons were arrested by the R.K. Puram on the charge
of robbing a three-wheeler scooter rickshaw (TSR) driver of Rs
250 last night.
The police said the accused, Sanjeev Kumar and Anil Badri, both
residents of A-Block, Servant Quarters, Netaji Naga,r had along
with their associate hired a TSR from Chanakya Cinema for going
to Munirka.
However, on reaching the stretch of Africa Avenue Road touching
Sector 3 of R.K. Puram, the accused whipped out a knife and
robbed a purse, containing Rs 250 and an identity card, from the
driver, Deepak Chand of Shahdara.
The police said on the complaint of the driver, they chased the
culprits in the same TSR and nabbed two of the accused. The
robbed property and the weapon of offence were recovered from the
possession of the accused.
