Steps to fill teacher posts

PONDICHERRY, SEPT. 28. The Tourism Minister, Mr. N. Rangaswamy, said here today that the posts of teachers remaining vacant in Government schools would be filled at the earliest.

Inaugurating a palatial campus constructed at a cost of Rs. 29.5 lakhs to house the 45-year-old Government Primary school at Kurumbapet near here, he said Rs. 12 crores had been earmarked for provision of infrastructural facilities in the Government institutions.He said the Department of Education had been taking steps to provide facilities at the schools.

Mr. P. Muthu, Joint Director of Education, welcomed those present. Mr. K. Natarajan, MLA, presided. Mr. D. Muthayyan, Deputy Director of Education, also spoke.Mr. R. Subbiah, Deputy Director (Women`s Education), proposed a vote of thanks.
