Chandrasekhar to lead rally against Centre
By Our Special Correspondent
GANDHINAGAR, SEPT. 2. The former Prime Minister, Mr.
Chandrasekhar, will take the lead in a joint rally of a section
of the Congress(I), the socialists and Swadeshi Jagran Manch to
cry a halt to the BJP Government at the Centre against ``blindly
pursuing the pro-American economic liberalisation policy.''
The rally beginning from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on Gandhi
Jayanti Day, on October 2, is likely to be the first public
outcry against the decade-old globalisation policy which was
further ``deepening'' the economic divide between the haves and
havenots in the country. A meeting for launching, what the
organisers called the ``political war for economic freedom,'' was
held here this week attended by Mr. Chandrasekhar.
