Sunil Dutt chosen for Naoroji Award

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 2. The former High Commissioner of India in the United Kingdom, Dr. L.M. Singhvi, the veteran Hindi actor, Mr. Sunil Dutt and a senior IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr. Ujagar Singh, are among those who would receive the Dadabhai Naoroji Global Millennium Award at a function in Mumbai on September 11.

The national committee for Dadabhai Naoroji Parliamentary centenary celebrations had also chosen the chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra, Mr. Keshub Mahendra, the educationist, Ms. Sophy Kelly, the Indian Merchants Chamber president, Mr. Sharayu Daftary and the Gandhian and Sarvodaya leader, Ms. Nirmala Deshpande, among others.

According to a press statement from the committee. the Maharashtra Governor, Dr. P.C. Alexander would be the chief guest at the function, which would coincide with the 175th birthday of Dadabhai Naoroji, one of the founders of the Indian National Congress.
