Policeman held
The Kovalam police have arrested a 31-year-old international
basketball player and member of the Punjab police team on charges
of attempting to molest a 21-year-old foreign woman tourist.
Police identified the accused as Parminder Singh. He had arrived
with the Punjab police team to take part in the all-India
basketball tournament now in progress here.
According to the police, Parminder Singh was arrested on the
basis of a complaint filed by the woman who is a citizen of the
Netherlands. The police case is that the accused had attempted to
molest a Dutch woman inside a hotel near the beach on Tuesday
afternoon.
