Orissa's new industrial policy soon

BHUBANESWAR, AUG. 29. The Orissa Government would soon launch a new industrial policy for setting up of fresh industries in the State. Under this policy, any proposal to set up an industry would be cleared without delay.

The Chief Minister, Mr. Naveen Patnaik, made this announcement while addressing a meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern Region, here on Monday.

Reiterating his Government's commitment to develop infrastructure for rapid industrial development, Mr. Patnaik said the Centre would be approached for early completion of ongoing projects relating to expansion of national highways, railways and ports. Besides, major national and international investors would be encouraged to take up projects for construction of roads, ports and industrial parks.

The Chief Minister further said that the Government would welcome investors to set up IT units as well as tourism and film industry. Leading organisations would be encouraged to set up technical institutes in the State to provide quality education.
