Army rescues 250

NEW DELHI, AUG. 29. Army rescue teams have evacuated more than 250 people from the flood-hit areas of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medak districts in Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.

An Army spokesman said here today that the Army columns using boats and helicopters were engaged in rescue and relief operations in the affected districts.

More than 600 Army personnel, deployed for the ``operation Sahayata'' since August 24, were distributing food and medicines to the victims. Army engineers were helping the State agencies in plugging a major breach in the Fox Sagar, he said.
