Vigil intensified along Kutch border
By Our Special Correspondent
GANDHINAGAR, AUG. 26. Vigilance has been intensified along the
international border with Pakistan at Kutch following reports
that about 10 Pakistani nationals had managed to intrude into the
country and had been hiding in some villages biding for time to
reach Ahmedabad and other places.
The alarm was reportedly sounded by a shepherd who reported to
the Border Security Force authorities that he had noticed some
``unknown faces with something that looked like weapons'' in Kala
Dungar village in Lakhpat taluka of the district.
A BSF official here said vigilance in the border areas had been
intensified since then but they had not been able to trace any
intruder. The official ruled out the possibility of any intrusion
through the Kutch borders but said ``a few'' Pakistanis might
have crossed over from Barmer or any other long unmanned border
and had reached Kutch villages to remain in hiding for sometime.
