Stand up against Pak. terrorism: overseas Pandits

NEW DELHI, AUG. 23. Several overseas Kashmiri Pandit organisations today urged the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, to take a firm stand against Pakistan, which is perpetrating violence in Jammu and Kashmir and indulging in largescale killings of innocent people.

``At this crucial moment in history, India needs to stand up against terrorism, violence and fundamentalism perpetrated by Pakistan and as a nation should resist, thwart, punish and defeat all such forces which are out to undermine the integrity and unity of the nation,'' said the letter.

``India should make its choices, independent of pressures, and stop worrying about the repercussions. No country will help or respect another country that is unable to defend itself.''
