Tisco launches web site
By Our Special Correspondent
MUMBAI, AUG. 20. As a paradigm shift in its marketing and sales,
Tata Iron and Steel Company (Tisco) has launched a customer page
on its website www.tatasteel.com.
``We moved from a producer's logic to customers logic'' said Mr.
F. A. Vandrewala, executive director (marketing and sales), Tata
Steel, while launching this at the facility of Tata SSL,
Borivali, in the Western suburb of Mumbai.
This is in line with the company's philosophy of building a
trusting, long lasting and mutually beneficial relationship with
its customers, which has been the cornerstone of all initiatives.
With this comprehensive facility, the customer would have access
to information anytime and from any place ranging from the order
status to delivery status, invoices to credit notes, payment dues
to credit status and many more customer desired reports.
Mr. Vandrewala also said that Tata Steel would export 15 to 20
per cent of its production to West Asia, Southeast Asian
countries and Canada and the U.S. and also expecting good demand
from the U.S. market.
