Fiji Indians make India proud: Advani
NEW DELHI, AUG 20. The Home Minister, Mr. L. K. Advani, today
said people of Indian origin made India proud through their rich
contribution in various fields.
Speaking at a civic reception here in honour of the deposed
Fijian Prime Minister, Mr. Mahendra pal Chaudhry, Mr. Advani said
Indians in Fiji not only developed their own talents but made
valuable contributions for the all-round development of that
Island Republic.
``By doing so they have knowingly or unknowingly made India
proud,'' he said.
Mr. Advani said on behalf of the Vajpayee Government and the
people of India he wished the people of Fiji and Mr. Chaudhry in
particular all the best.
Responding to the warm felicitation given by municipal
corporation of Delhi (MCD), Mr. Chaudhry said he would continue
his struggle for restoration of multi-racial democracy in Fiji
and sought New Delhi's cooperation to ensure that his efforts
succeeded.
