Ceasefire monitoring group meetings to be resumed
New Delhi, Aug. 20. (PTI): The Government would resume the
ceasefire monitoring group meetings in Nagaland to build an
atmosphere conducive for political talks in the State.
After extension of ceasefire between the Government and the NSCN
(IM) for a year from August 1, it has been decided to implement
the "agreed ground rules" for bringing an "end to violence
against any one and extortion", an official release said here
today.
Meanwhile, the Centre and State Government have suggested certain
modifications to the "agreed ceasefire ground rules" and these
were under discussions with the NSCN(IM), it said.
