Educational website unveils plans for vocational courses

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, AUG. 11. Eduempire.com, which claims to be the only educational website with 20,000 pages, is contemplating providing online programmes on vocational courses. "The courses will be in subjects which are not available on any other website and will be unique", Mr. Aveena Gudapati of Eduempire. com said at a press conference here on Friday.

The website has 180 categories for students, teachers and parents dealing with the specific needs of each of the three groups. Mr. Gudapati said the site was concentrating on developing a partnership with all the three groups apart from educational institutions unlike other sites which were focussing on just dissemination of information.

Tie-ups with schools and linking them with parents through the website to know about their wards' progress and organising workshops off line involving all the three groups were some efforts in this direction, he said.

The site was able to forge a partnership with several schools which facilitates maintaining school web pages as of now apart from providing some value-added services. With online education being the future, Mr. Gudapati said he is hoping to make the bond stronger. The site has also plans to acquire services of experts in various fields for the benefit of the schools registered with it.

`Kaleidoscope', a creative writing workshop organised by the site recently, was a tremendous success, he said and added that the results of the competitions would be announced online on August 15. The first, second and third prize winners would get a cash prize of Rs. 600, Rs. 500 and Rs. 400 respectively every month for six months. Mr. C. Sasidhar, Managing Director, was also present.
