HC seeks details on Plus Two schools

KOCHI, AUG. 11. The Kerala High Court, on Friday, sought from the State Government certain details related to Plus Two.

When a batch of petitions challenging the fresh list of Plus Two schools came up before the court today, Mr. Justice G. Sivarajan directed the State Government to file a statement on the following details:

The total number of Pre-Degree seats delinked from colleges in each revenue district up to the academic year 1999-2000.

The total number of Plus Two seats available in the higher secondary schools.

The total number of Pre-Degree seats delinked from colleges (college wise details) during 2000-01.

The total number of Plus Two seats given this year both by way of new grant and additional seats.

The total number of students who passed the SSLC examination this year (district wise).

The colleges from which Pre-Degree has been delinked this year, including the name and address of the colleges.

The approximate distance between the applicant schools and the colleges from which the Pre-Degree courses have been delinked.

Whether the applicant schools belonged to the same managements of the delinked colleges.

The details regarding the academic excellence of the applicant schools.

Whether the applicant schools were situated in a backward, tribal or hilly area.

The details of the schools to which additional Plus Two batches were allotted this year and the name and address of the batches.

The statement should be filed before August 17.
