New party will cleanse the system: Paswan
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, AUG 11. The Union Communications Minister, Mr. Ram Vilas
Paswan, today said the political party which he proposed to
launch would `cleanse' the prevailing system.
Hinting that he would leave the JD (U) shortly to form a national
party, Mr. Paswan, who arrived from New Delhi en route
Pondicherry, told The Hindu at the Chennai airport, that his
decision to launch a new party was a sequel to the worsening
situation in the north, especially Bihar.
Driven by his concern over the``rampant corruption'' and lack of
developmental activity in the north, ``people are urging me to
start my own party.''
Social justice, secularism and social harmony would be the
guiding forces of the organisation, he said.
The Minister said he was touring the entire country to bring
together like-minded people.
Asked about the name of the party, he said, ``Let me complete the
spadework first.''
