Postal staff threaten stir
NEW DELHI, AUG.11. The postal employees unions today threatened
to resume their agitation if the Government failed to meet their
charter of demands by the end of this month.
``The postal Joint Council of Action will review the whole
situation after the expiry of deadline on August 31, and take
appropriate decisions'', a statement by the National Federation
of Postal Employees and Federation of National Postal
organisation said.
More than six lakh postal workers are today observing the day as
early settlement day by holding rallies and demonstrations
throughout the country, the statement said.
It said the indefinite strike call given by the unions was
postponed in a written agreement by the postal department in the
presence of the Union Communication Minister,Mr. Ram Vilas
Paswan, on May 1.
