SP leader shot dead
LAKHIMPUR KHERI (U.P.), JULY 9. Armed miscreants shot dead a
Samajwadi party leader in broad-day light here on Saturday,
police said today. Prabhat Gupta, a member of the party's state
executive, was shot twice from point blank range by two
motorcycle-borne miscreants. He died on the spot.
