VHP leader objects to Sorabjee's remark

AHMEDABAD, JULY 8. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary, Mr. Pravin Togadia, has described as `shocking' the Attorney General, Mr. Soli Sorabjee's statement that ``Hindu fundamentalists should be sent to a lunatic asylum''.

In an open letter to Mr. Sorabjee, which was released to the media last night, Dr. Togadia said it was shocking to read such a sweeping statement made by him, which was a reaction to a statement of a junior Bajrang Dal worker, who had been wrongly quoted. Dr. Togadia regretted that the leading constitutional expert had fallen prey to a systematic campaign against the RSS and its affiliate bodies by politically-motivated sections in the country. - UNI

`Ready for Ram Mandir'

PTI reports from Agartala:

VHP is ready for construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya and waiting for the decision of the dharma sammelan to be held at Prayag next year, Dr. Togadia told a press conference.

He said, ``we are ready for construction of the temple. Stones have been collected and stone pillars have been carved and now we are waiting for the resolution of the Hindu religious conference to be held at Prayag where sadhus and santas will decide the time of construction''.
