MoU for cyber city in Gurgaon

Gurgaon, June 11. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed
this weekend by Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Managing Director of Haryana
State Industrial Development Corporation, and Mr. Kannan
Ramaswamy, president and CEO AtIndia LLC Incorporated, Delaware,
USA to facilitate setting up of India's first fully integrated
cyber city in Haryana. The proposed city has been planned at
Gurgaon, close to Indira Gandhi International Airport .
In a press statement the HSIDC said the MOU will expedite
setting up of a world class self-contained intelligent cyber
city. AtIndia Cyber City has been progressively envisaged with
quality infrastructure, attractive surroundings, high-speed
communication access, uninterrupted power, clean living spaces
and institutional areas.
Planned within an exclusive area of 1,000 acres over the next
five years, the city is being set up using international talent
of futuristic concepts and designs. Full autonomy and liberal
administrative guidelines are also being issued to enable setting
up such fast track ventures in Haryana.
To bolster the Information Technology industry, the State
Cabinet has recently announced its IT policy 2000 which seeks a
deep impact initiative by the Government in encouraging
replacement of traditional delivery systems of public services by
IT governance.
AtIndia also envisages setting up of world class technology and
internet-centric township for new creative IT concept and
germination of medium and large software companies. Furthermore
the cyber city provides for employment of five lakh people and
boost Haryana's economy by Rs. 15,000 crore and attract
competent partners and expertise.
Besides attracting M/s Hambrecht and Quist, co-founders of the
company with investment of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in the Asia
Pacific region,the company will endeavor to bring about leading
software companies and international experience for round the
clock service.
In addition, it will work to establish the support of well
established Silicon valley entrepreneurs with capability and
resource to help Haryana and India take full advantage of the IT
boom.
