By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MAY 30. Entry of visitors has been banned at the Kamaraj Domestic and Anna International airport by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for ``security reasons''.

According to airport sources here, the ban order imposed today for Chennai airport was as part of the beefing up of the security measures by the BCAS in the light of the present situation in Sri Lanka. The restriction imposed under the directions of the Commissioner of BCAS, New Delhi is valid until further orders.

The International Airports Division of the Airports Authority of India (IAD-AAI) under the directions of the Union Civil Aviation Ministry and the BCAS had recently lifted the ban and allowed visitors by introducing a differential entry fee. While Rs. 50 was levied for entering the international terminal, the entry fee for the domestic airport (Rs. 20) was the same.
