Rediff offer for mobile users

NEW DELHI: Rediff.com has launched its `mobile' service allowing cellular and pager users to access its content irrespective of the choice of the service operator and handset. A team has been constituted to create content for its `mobile' users. The service can be activated by downloading a software (by a desktop computer) from the company's site or by using a WAP-enabled cellular phone. Once the software is downloaded, users will obtain e-mail intimations in real time on their cell phones. They can also get breaking news, business news and sports update while being on the move.

Compaq, ITI tieup for telecom solutions

NEW DELHI: Compaq India and Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) have signed a memorandum of understanding to address the need for telecom solutions in India. The two companies will set up a centre in the public sector ITI's office premises in Bangalore. While ITI will provide consultancy and training, Compaq will offer solutions for e-commerce, fraud management and integrated network management systems, states a joint news release.

Bharti Telnet pact with STPI

BHOPAL: Bharti Telenet Limited, India's first private basic telecom service provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) for providing access to an international gateway for high-speed data communication to software units in the State. As per the MoU, STPI's earth station at Indore would provide international gagteway facilities to software units in the State through Airtel's network, according to a company release. STPI will lease capacity on Airtel's high-speed optical fibre cable backbone and deliver international bandwidth access at the doorsteps of the software units.
