Congress President election on Nov. 1
JAIPUR, MAY 12. The election of the AICC president will be held
on Nov. 1 through ballots, chairman of the AICC election
authority, Mr. Ram Niwas Mirdha, said today.He told reporters
here that the entire election process would be held through
ballots, and the state party election authority would be set up
to monitor election of the PCC chiefs.
Polling will be held at the party headquarters in the State and
counting will be done in the AICC headquarters in Delhi.
On the enrolment drive in the party, he said the Congress party
was trying to get the maximum registration of workers, seasoned
leaders and intellectuals.
On drought relief operations and Central assistance to Rajasthan,
he said the Union Ministers were giving ``misleading'' statements
about the financial aid provided to the State causing confusion
in people's minds.The Centre has given Rs. 102.93 crores from the
National Calamity Relief Funds (NCRF), Rs. 20 crore from the
Prime Minister Fund and Rs. 112.0 crore in two installment from
the Calamity Relief Fund (CRF) as drought relief.
