Nenashev, Kharlov in joint lead
DUBAI, MAY 5 Grandmasters Alexander Nenashev of Uzbekistan and
Andre Khalov of Russia were in joint lead with 4.5 points each at
the end of the fifth round in the Dubai chess open 2000 here.
The Indian challengers were way down, Chandrasekhar Gokhale with
2.5 points and K. Viswesharan with 2 points respectively.
Nenashev defeated Russian GM Sergey Arkhipov while Kharlov beat
fellow countryman GM Alexey Kuzmin. Four players were joint
second with four points each, and nine others were a further half
a point adrift while 15 players had three points each.
