There were traffic snarls at Gemini Fly Over junction and in parts of South Chennai in view of the procession.

Motorists proceeding towards Santhome from Radhakrishnan Salai were the worst affected.

Though the police had given prior warning about the procession many motorists were found stranded at various points because of the diversions.

The procession which passed through Ice House, Triplicane High Road, Wallajah Road and Anna Salai congregated at Island Grounds where a public meeting was organised.
