Traders take out procession

CHENNAI, MAY 5. Members of the T.N. Traders Association took out
a procession from Luz junction to Island grounds today to mark
the Traders Day.
Hundreds of vans and buses, packed with volunteers, waving the
association flag participated in the procession.
There were traffic snarls at Gemini Fly Over junction and in
parts of South Chennai in view of the procession.
Motorists proceeding towards Santhome from Radhakrishnan Salai
were the worst affected.
Though the police had given prior warning about the procession
many motorists were found stranded at various points because of
the diversions.
The procession which passed through Ice House, Triplicane High
Road, Wallajah Road and Anna Salai congregated at Island Grounds
where a public meeting was organised.
The T.N. Traders Association president, Mr. Vellaiyan led the
procession.
