Cong nominee for M.P. Assembly seat
BHOPAL, MAY 5. The Congress (I) has nominated Mrs. Pushpalata
Kavre, wife of former State Transport Minister, Likhiram Kavre,
for the May 26 by- elections to the Kirnapur Assembly seat in
Madhya Pradesh. Kavre, who represented the constituency, was
murdered by naxalites in Kirnapur in December.
Party sources said the name of Mrs. Pushpalata Kavre was
finalised after serious deliberations.
Although a formal announcement of the BJP nominee for the seat
was yet to be made, Mr. Bhuwan Parthy's nomination looked almost
certain.
The last date for filing of nomination papers is May 9. The forms
would be scrutinised the next day and the last date for
withdrawal of nominations is May 12.
