'PMK trying to deceive Vanniars'

CHENNAI, MAY 1.A massive `awareness' rally to `liberate' the Vanniar community from the PMK would be organised at the Marina here on July 8, the TRC president, Mr. Vazhapadi K. Ramamurthy, said today.

Inaugurating the office building of the recently- formed `Vanniar Sangam', Mr. Ramamurthy said the Sangam would start three Trusts for the welfare of the community with a corpus fund of Rs. 1 crore.

Lashing out at the PMK leadership for `speaking in different voices at different places' on the issue of continuing in the DMK alliance in the State, he charged that the party was trying to deceive the Vanniar community.
