Rajasthan House passes Right to Information Bill
JAIPUR, MAY 1. The Rajasthan Assembly today passed by voice vote
the Rajasthan Right to Information Bill-2000 in an amended form.
Replying to the debate on the Bill, the Home Minister, Mr. Gulab
Singh Shaktawat, said the provision for seeking necessary
information within 24 hours would be made in the rules relating
to the bill. The fee to be paid for getting the information would
also be made practicable while the power to hear an appeal on the
matter would be conferred upon a tribunal.
Opposition members said a Bill with so many restrictions would
prove a mere formality.
