New CJ for Himachal Pradesh

NEW DELHI, MAY 1. Mr. Justice Chunilal Karsandas Thakkar, Judge
of the Gujarat High Court, has been appointed Chief Justice of
the Himachal Pradesh High Court. His appointment will be
effective from the date he assumes charge, according to a
communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
Mr. Justice Shyamal Kumar Sen was transferred from Calcutta High
Court to Allahabad High Court and Mr. Justice Amar Bir Singh Gill
was moved from the Allahabad High Court to Punjab and Haryana
High Court. They have been directed to assume their respective
office on or before May 16, the communique said.
