V.P. Singh sprains neck in car mishap

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, APRIL 28. The former Prime Minister, Mr. V.P. Singh, escaped with a sprained neck after his car met with an accident on the Yamuna Bazar flyover near Red Fort here on Friday evening.

Mr. Singh was on his way to address a public meeting at Narela in an Ambassador car, escorted by two pilot vehicles, when a Maruti abruptly stopped in front of the first pilot vehicle. The driver of the pilot vehicle banged into the Maruti. The vehicles trailing them banged into one another, creating a pile-up of sorts on the flyover.

As traffic came to a halt, Mr. Singh was helped out of the Ambassador and rushed home in the second pilot vehicle which was in running condition.
