Fireballs sighted in sky
BHOPAL, APRIL 20. Multi-coloured fireworks in the sky were
observed here last night, which could be a breaking piece of a
comet, according to Education Officer at the local Science
Centre, Mr. D. B. Raigaonkar.
The phenomenon, which began around 10-15 p.m., lasted for five to
seven minutes, he told PTI today. It was also confirmed by the
Nehru Planetarium in Mumbai. The planetarium director, Dr. J. J.
Rawal, told PTI that four to five fireballs were observed in the
constellation of Gemini.
Mr. Raigaonkar said the shining brightness of the moon was
disrupted when an apparently burning object became visible and
disappeared within minutes after moving at a high speed.
