Sukh Ram reinduction in Cabinet ruled out
SHIMLA, APRIL 20. The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Prem
Kumar Dhumal, today ruled out the reinduction of former Union
Minister, Mr. Sukh Ram in his Cabinet and said he would not take
a hasty decision on reconstituting his Ministry, whose members
resigned yesterday.
Replying to a question from reporters here, Mr. Dhumal said there
was no possibility of taking back Mr. Sukh Ram, chief of BJP's
coalition partner, Himachal Vikas Party.
``The circumstances under which Mr. Sukh Ram had resigned from
the Cabinet still exist and there is no change in the
situation,'' he said in an apparent reference to filing of
chargesheet against the HVC supremo in the telecom scam in April
1998.
He told reporters that he would weigh the pros and cons of the
resignation of the Ministers before recasting his Ministry.
The Chief Minister admitted he had received the resignations of
all Ministers including the two HVC Ministers and nominated
chairpersons of State-owned boards and corporations but said he
had not so far given a thought over it.
