Naxalite killed in encounter

NIZAMABAD, APRIL 20. A self- styled commander of the CPI (ML Pratighatana) group was killed in an alleged encounter with the Chennur police of Adilabad district late on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the police, while combing the forest area on the banks of the Godavari, saw some movement. Some persons were holding a meeting and on seeing the police, they started fleeing. The police challenged them and started firing, resulting in the death of Jagadish, commander of Pratighatana group.

Former naxal shot

According to a report from Karimnagar, the CPI-ML Praja Prathigatana group naxalites shot dead a former naxalite, Dharmaiah, at Battupalli village of Manthani mandal on Thursday morning branding him as police informer.
