Ramadoss to ignore 'disgruntled elements'

By Our Special Correspondent

SALEM, APRIL 10 The PMK leader, Dr. S. Ramadoss, today said that he would ignore all the activities of the `disgruntled elements' of the Joint Action Committee of the Vanniyar outfits including the leader of the Tamilaga Rajiv Congress, Mr. Vazhapadi K. Ramamurthy, proposing to take part in their meeting in Chennai on April 15.

Despite persistent questioning by the mediapersons, all that Dr.Ramadoss said was ``I have a lot other work to do and I am not interested in indulging in a slanging match (with Mr.Ramamurthy)''.

At the same time, he said that he was in no way responsible for the defeat of the TRC leader in the Lok Sabha elections - an allegation that the latter started levelling ``almost six months after the elections''. He said he was agreeable to a private detective agency being engaged to study and submit a report to the leader of the NDA in Tamil Nadu, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, in this regard.

``Is it not wrong to fault the local Minister, Mr. Veerapandi S. Arumugham, for the low tally of Mr. Ramamurthy from the assembly segment of the former?'', he asked. ``I choose to ignore everything and all the allegations. It is now upto Mr. Karunanidhi to decide (on how to maintain harmony within the NDA)'', he said.

The PMK would organise an all-India convention on social justice in Delhi on April 28 in which all the NDA leaders, including the Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, would take part.
