Ajit Jogi denies problems in Bihar

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, APRIL 3. The Congress(I) denied reports in a section of the media that it was disappointed with the allocation of portfolios to its Ministers in the coalition Government in Bihar by the Chief Minister, Mrs. Rabri Devi. ``There is no question of dissatisfaction, nor is there a serious problem,'' the AICC spokesperson, Mr. Ajit Jogi, said today.

If there were any problems, leaders of both the Congress(I) and Rashtriya Janata Dal would sit together and resolve them, he said. The new Government would work in an amicable atmosphere for the welfare and development of the people of the State.

Sahu defends himself

Meanwhile, Mr. Rajni Ranjan Sahu, former Congress(I) MP who was recently expelled from the party for contesting the Rajya Sabha by-election as an Independent candidate, said today that he had been expelled though he was not a rebel candidate and did not contest against any Congress(I) nominee.

He said he had written to Ms. Sonia Gandhi, party president, to seek her blessings before filing his nomination, and pointed out that he had stood for the Rajya Sabha by-election (for a two-year term) and not the biennial election (which has a six-year term). He had filed his nomination a few minutes before the closing time when no candidate was fielded by the Congress(I), he said.

In a statement, he accused Ms. Mohsina Kidwai, the AICC general secretary in charge of Bihar, for ``wrongly advising'' Ms. Gandhi to join hands with the RJD again. He warned Ms. Gandhi to ``be very careful of the coterie''.
