CALCUTTA, APRIL 1. The International Cricket Council (ICC)
president, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya, has been unanimously chosen to
head the Asian Cricket Foundation (ACF) whose work would mainly
centre around fund raising and development of the game in the
continent.
``I am honoured by the decision of the Asian Cricket Council
(ACC),'' said Mr. Dalmiya on Saturday.
The ACC special general meeting was held in Sharjah on March 29
to decide this, among other things.
The other members of the foundation are: Lt. Gen Tauqir Zia of
Pakistan, Asif Iqbal, Abdul Rehman Bukhatir and Syed Ashraful Haq
of Bangladesh.
The terms of reference and other details will be decided in mid-
June when the ACC meets in London prior to the ICC general
meeting.
Mr. Dalmiya, who was elected as the ICC first president, is to
lay down the office after serving for three years. South Africa
representative is to succeed Mr. Dalmiya.
