Medha's condition worsens

MUMBAI, APRIL 1. The condition of Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) activist, Ms. Medha Patkar, whose hunger strike at Nandurbar in Maharashtra entered the third day today, has deteriorated further, NBA sources said here.

Ms. Patkar was joined in the hunger strike by several tribals from the area to ``expose the false claims of Maharashtra Government on land availability for the resettlement of Sardar Sarovar project (SSP) oustees.''

The oustees in Nandurbar area were staging an indefinite Dharna since March 27 demanding that the State Government complete the joint survey of the lands for resettlement of affected people.
