New ASI chief

NEW DELHI, APRIL, 1. Ms. Komal Anand, an IAS officer of Haryana cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of Archaeological Survey of India and Mr. A.K.Rastogi of Tamil Nadu cadre as the Chairman of the public sector Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO). The two would have the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government.

Announcing this, an official press release, said Mr. Lalit Mathur (Andhra Pradesh cadre) has also been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Rural Development, Mr. S.P.Arya (Uttar Pradesh cadre) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Development, and Mr. V.K.Duggal (AGMU) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, by downgrading the post of Special Secretary.

In addition, Ms. Aruna Makhan, ICAS, has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Mr. Virendra Singh, IC&CES, as Adviser, Inter-State Council Secretariat in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government.
