30 LTTE men killed
COLOMBO, APRIL 1. Sri Lankan troops killed at least 30 rebels in
a fresh fighting near a strategic causeway linking the mainland
with the northern Jaffna peninsula, the Defence Ministry said
today.
The militants tried to attack army artillery positions in
Iyakachchi, near the Elephant Pass causeway, but were repulsed by
soldiers, a Defence Ministry statement said. A large number of
militants were killed the statement said.
